Tried and Tested: Samyang Ramen, The Most Spicy Noodle (?)

So for the past few weeks, Youtube has fed me with tons videos about noodle. Well, blame me for always watching food videos there which turns out all my suggestion videos are about noodles! In few videos I watched, I saw one noodle caught my attention. It said that it has spicy flavor that only just one bit it will burn your mouth. Exaggerating? Maybe was I thought. This spicy noodle is called Samyang Chicken Ramen and it's from Korean. That actually triggered me to try that spicy noodles and I thought some of the supermarkets in Indonesia have been selling it.

Then when I did my grocery shopping last weekend, I found it! The spicy noodles! The Samyang Chicken Ramen! It was pretty expensive for a package of noodles I thought because it cost 15,000 rupiahs! Well, maybe that's because it's imported product from Korea you can't expect it has the same price with Indomie Goreng. But, that was fine since I just wanted to taste what is really like whether it's really spicy like they said or not.

So here is the Samyang Chicken Ramen. It has really good packaging and I really love the black color btw. Inside the package, there are the ramen noodles, the seasoning (or I would rather say the paste because it's a paste, not a powder like), and a package of garnish contains a tiny bit of dried seaweed and sesame seed.

Here is after the noodles done with the seasoning on top.

Let mix it and dig in!
Samyang Review

The taste? IT WAS REALLY SPICY!!!

For the first bit or I must say slurping (because technically I was slurping the noodles then bit it), it was already spicy and it had long aftertaste of the spiciness. I've never found any spicy noodles that had this spiciness even in Indonesia! Other than spicy, the taste was pretty good I thought but I barely taste the chicken flavor on it. Was it because of the spiciness?

Overall this spicy noodles is above from your expectation. The spiciness which is really spicy than I thought and the garnish which is not very fancy at all! I mean only a small amount of dried seaweed and sesame seed? Come on, you can do better with dried veggies or dried chicken. But I must admit that even with the small amount of garnish, this ramen is already appetizing and delicious.

If you ask me will I buy this spicy noodles again, my answer is yes-sometimes, if I want to eat something spicy without the rice because unlike Indonesian noodles, you can't eat this with rice. You know Indonesian, they said you can't tell someone has already eaten if they haven't eaten the rice yet :D

In the end, only the plate and chopstick were left :) :) :)
